Affordability
Where we put our tax dollars matters. Everyone pays property taxes, either directly or through their rents. Ensuring we fund projects that get us the most bang for our bucks collectively, is my goal.
Safety
Safety on our roads, sidewalks, bike lanes, in our homes, in our parks and on our trails are important and I will continue to fight for policies that ensure our community is safe for everyone.
Representation
Everyone in Guelph has a different need, hobby, lifestyle and stage of life. I make sure to listen to everyone who contacts me and I work hard to solve their issues individually. I vow to elevate Ward 3’s needs within city priorities and stand up for Guelph’s goals with upper levels of government.
Transparency
As a former Chair of Audit, transparency is a huge concern of mine. I have supported numerous audits, updates to governance, changes in city policies and funding to change how information is shared over this term. Ward 3 needs detailed information about how Guelph is run and funded, and I will continue to work towards full transparency.

The Answer to Affordable Housing: Smart Development

Recently, One of the Mayoral candidates has called for a Pro Development Council. I completely reject this. We don’t need a pro nor an anti-development Council. We need a thoughtful council that is willing to engage in Smart Development. What does this comprise? Smart development encourages Inclusive zoning, appropriate land use, and brownfield development. It also considers Guelph’s dependence on Ground Water and what growing to 208,000 by 2050 means. Ford government doubles down on strong mayor powers

I am confident that I am not alone in having concerns about Minister Calanadra’s dictum that mayors alone respond to confusion and chaos caused by Doug Ford’s apparent backing down on city boundary changes. This recommendation was released to cities recently by the provincial government.
